GEOLOGY

The Uong Thuong and Dong Vong coal deposits lie in the Bao Dai coalfield which is part of the major Triassic Quang Ninh Coal basin of northeast Vietnam.

The Uong coal Thuong coal deposit is a synclinal basin with sediment dips ranging between 5 and 50 degrees. The deposit is structurally complex with numerous large faults dislocating the sedimentary sequence. The Uong Thuong deposit contains 15 coal seams of which there are seven coal seams of potentially economic interest UT. 900 to UT. 300.

The Dong Vong area is continuation of the Uong Thuong sequence to
the northeast. Dong Vong consist of 4 main seam;
DV. 800
DV. 700
DV. 600, and
DV. 500.
